AI Hackathon 2026 - Terms & Conditions

Purpose of the Hackathon

The AI Hackathon 2026 is a DTI sponsored event, powered by our partners Microsoft, Google, AWS, Anthropic, Databricks and MBZUAI.

It is open to all Etihad employees and has been designed to encourage creative problem-solving, collaboration, and prototyping - leveraging different forms of AI - that support Etihad's strategic goals.

By participating, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

Eligibility

Participation is voluntary but encouraged, and is limited to Etihad employees (with an @etihad.ae email address) and approved guests.

All participants must register using the official Hackathon companion application.

Etihad reserves the right to decline participation at its discretion.

Conduct & Participation Guidelines

Treat all team members with respect and maintain a collaborative environment – always behaving ethically and professionally.

Do not engage in any activity that disrupts the Hackathon, jeopardizes safety, or violates Etihad policies.

Follow all instructions provided by the organizing team, mentors, &/or judges.

Use of Etihad Systems & Resources

Participants may use Etihad devices, platforms, datasets, and APIs only for the purpose of the Hackathon.

Access to sensitive, confidential, or restricted systems beyond what is provided for the Hackathon is prohibited.

All use must comply with the company's Information Security and Acceptable Use policies.

Data Use & Privacy

Any datasets provided during the Hackathon remain Etihad's property and must not be copied, shared, or used outside the event.

Participants may not use personal (PII), secret, confidential or sensitive data unless explicitly permitted and anonymized.

Teams and technology partners must adhere to Etihad's data protection and privacy standards.

Upon conclusion of the Hackathon, participants must delete any downloaded or locally stored data unless otherwise authorized.

Intellectual Property (IP)

All inputs and outputs of the Hackathon remain Etihad's property.

Participants grant Etihad full rights to use, modify, commercialize, or discontinue any outputs.

Participants must comply with all licensing terms when using open-source libraries or external resources.

Confidentiality

Participants may be exposed to internal strategies, technologies, or proprietary information.

All such information must be kept confidential and must not be shared further.

Public posting of code, screenshots, or solutions is not permitted unless Etihad approves it.

Prizes & Recognition

Prizes are awarded at the discretion of the judging panel.

Etihad reserves the right to modify or withdraw prizes.

Winning does not guarantee future product development or promotion.

Health, Safety & Well-Being

Participants are encouraged to take breaks.

Etihad is not liable for health issues due to voluntary overexertion.

Liability & Responsibility

Participants are responsible for their equipment and conduct.

Etihad is not responsible for lost data or system outages.

Disqualification

Etihad may disqualify participants or teams for policy violations, plagiarism, misuse of data, or unethical behaviour.

Amendments

Etihad may update these Terms & Conditions at any time.

Acceptance

By participating, you acknowledge and accept these Terms and Conditions.
